Halle Berry (n. 14 august 1966, Ohio, SUA) este o actriță americană și fost fotomodel. În anul 2002 ea a câștigat Premiul Oscar pentru cea mai bună actriță pentru performanța sa din filmul Monster’s Ball, până în prezent fiind prima și unica femeie de origine afro-americană care a câștigat premiul Oscar pentru rolul principal.
Halle Maria Berry s-a născut pe 14 august 1966, în Cleveland, Ohio, SUA. Tatăl său, Jerome Berry, de origine afro-americană, a lucrat ca asistent social, iar mama sa, Judith Berry, de origine caucaziană, este asistentă medicală. Halle are o soră mai mare, Heidi, care lucrează ca asistent de regie.
La vârsta de 17 ani, Halle Berry a debutat în lumea spectacolului, participând la concursul de frumusețe „Miss Teen All-American Pageant”, unde a impresionat publicul prin frumusețea și eleganța sa. Un an mai târziu, în 1986, a câștigat locul întâi la concursul „The Miss USA Pageant” și a devenit un model de renume, simbolizând o feminitate distinsă.
Cariera sa de actriță a fost recunoscută cu numeroase premii, inclusiv un Glob de Aur pentru rolul din filmul de succes X-Men, unde a interpretat personajul Storm. Recent, Berry a jucat rolul principal în filmul realizat de HBO Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, unde a fost și producător executiv. Pentru această interpretare, a primit premiile Emmy, Globul de Aur, Screen Actors Guild (SAG) și trei premii NAACP Image, inclusiv titlul de Entertainer of the Year.
În 1998, a fost onorată cu titlul de Cultural Artist of the Year de către Fundația Harvard de la Universitatea Harvard, ca recunoaștere a realizărilor sale ca actriță. În paralel, Halle Berry a continuat să fie purtător de cuvânt pentru compania Revlon.
A câștigat un premiu Oscar pentru rolul din Monster’s Ball, fiind prima actriță de culoare care a primit acest premiu pentru un rol principal. De asemenea, a fost onorată cu o stea pe Hollywood Walk of Fame, situată în partea de nord, aria 6800.
