Gheorghe Tomozei (n. 29 aprilie 1936, București – d. 31 martie 1997, București) a fost poet, eseist și traducător român, o voce distinctă a poeziei postbelice. A fost fiul Franței Stăncescu din Pucheni, Dâmbovița, și a urmat Liceul „Nicolae Bălcescu” din Târgoviște, apoi Școala de Literatură „Mihai Eminescu”, unde i-a avut colegi pe Fănuș Neagu și Nicolae Labiș.
A debutat în 1953 în revista Tânărul scriitor, iar în 1957 a publicat primul volum, Pasărea albastră. A fost redactor la revistele Cinema, Tânărul scriitor, Argeș și Almanahul Scriitorilor. Prieten apropiat al lui Labiș și Nichita Stănescu, Tomozei le-a dedicat volume memoriale, precum Urmele poetului Labiș.
A scris numeroase volume de poezie, proză, cărți pentru copii și traduceri, remarcându-se printr-un stil rafinat, sensibil și adesea nostalgic. A tradus, printre altele, sonetele lui Shakespeare, fiind apreciat pentru acuratețea și lirismul traducerilor sale.
Printre cele mai cunoscute volume se numără: Misterul clepsidrei (1971, Premiul Uniunii Scriitorilor), Gloria ierbii (1975, Premiul Academiei Române), La lumina zăpezii și Prea târziu, prea devreme.
A fost distins cu Ordinul Meritul Cultural clasa a II-a în 1972 pentru contribuțiile sale literare.
A avut un fiu, Maximilian Tomozei, împreună cu scriitoarea Cleopatra Lorințiu. A murit în 1997, la vârsta de 60 de ani, în urma unui atac cerebral.
